Our first milestone is to implement the Home Page with static HTML blocks. During this first effort, we will take care of the whole basic setup, from the installation, creation of Tenant and Site, adapting our Theme to our the existent Nuptial Bootstrap, along with some basic Partial Designs for the Header, Navigation, and Footer.
The Nuptial SXA Experiment - Part 1 (Introduction)
As a first hands-on experience with SXA at NishTech, we chose to implement one of the Development Tests we have in-house. It's not an exercise specific to SXA nor Sitecore, but it can certainly be implemented with these tools.
The use case we are going to implement has some specific functional and non-functional requirements, but it is overall quite simple, with only two pages and four dynamic (editable) components.
But what appeared to be a straight-forward task at first glance, proved to be an interesting SXA challenge.
A Technology PM guide to navigating the 2018 Sitecore Symposium breakout sessions
As a PMP certified technical project manager working for Nish Tech on Sitecore and commerce-based projects, I’m planning for my second year of attending Symposium. My first experience with the Sitecore Symposium last year made me realize what a powerful conference this is;
Sitecore 9 introduces an exciting new Forms System (see official documentation here). However, it lacks a feature that is widely used at most forms: a Send E-mail Action. WFFM does have an OOTB action, so this is really an important feature to implement.To fill this gap, Nish Tech implemented a custom Send E-mail Action for Sitecore 9 Forms. This action sends e-mails using the “Sitecore.MainUtil.SendMail” method, which uses the standard SMTP settings of Sitecore for message dispatching.
Bootstrap Grid System with Sitecore 9 Dynamic Placeholders
This article shows a possible approach to implement a Bootstrap-Compatible Grid System taking advantage of the new features of Dynamic Placeholders to build a simple yet flexible Grid System. With that, you will be able to create complex page layouts in Experience Editor. Only a couple Views (cshtml files) were enough for this implementation, and I am pretty sure you can end up with a single view if you want. So, let’s get started!
